Oโ€™S Helping Hand Services Inc. was founded with a mission to provide meaningful, high-quality support for individuals with diverse and complex needs. With over 17 years of experience serving children, youth, and adults within the Peel District School Board and surrounding communities, our founder brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of success in behavioural and developmental support.

At O'S Helping Hand, we offer a variety of specialized programs tailored to support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Down syndrome, developmental disabilities, and other exceptionalities. Our focus areas include:

Day Program

Our full-day program supports individuals through a balanced schedule of structured and personalized activities. The focus is on helping participants gain real-world skills in a safe, encouraging environment.

Program Goals:

  • Develop daily living and life skills (e.g., hygiene routines, foos

  • Strengthen communication and social interaction

  • Encourage healthy routines including light fitness and mindfulness

  • Foster community engagement through local outings and experiential learning

  • Promote self-regulation through sensory and behavioural strategies

Each day is planned with visual schedules, routine-based learning, and support strategies based on client needs and abilities.

Evening Respite Program

Our after-school/evening respite program offers short-term, high-impact support during critical transition hours. It is ideal for families needing structured care after school or during the workday.

The Saturday program is a great option for families looking for weekend engagement while building their childโ€™s independence and sense of belonging.

Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Program

At Oโ€™S Helping Hand Services Inc., we are proud to offer individualized Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) services for children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental needs. Our ABA program is designed to support skill development, behaviour regulation, and independence through evidence-based interventions.

Clinical Oversight

We are partnered with a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA) and a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). All ABA programming is fully supervised by a certified BCBA to ensure that our services meet the highest standards of clinical care, ethical practice, and individualized support.

What Our ABA Program Offers:

  • 1:1 individualized programming tailored to the learnerโ€™s needs

  • Behaviour reduction and skill acquisition goals

  • Communication support using PECS, AAC, or verbal strategies

  • Social skills training and peer interaction opportunities

  • Parent coaching and ongoing progress monitoring

Safety, Training & Staff Qualifications

CPI-Certified Team

Our organization includes an in-house Certified CPI Trainer (Crisis Prevention Institute), allowing us to regularly train and update our team on:

Peel Region Paratransit โ€“ TransHelp

TransHelp offers specialized, door-to-door, shared-ride transit for eligible residents with disabilities who live in Brampton, Caledon, or Mississaugaโ€ฏ.

Ontario Funding Programs & Agencies for
Guardians

Supporting families and guardians of children, youth, and adults with developmental or physical disabilities
in Ontarioโ€”especially within Halton and Peel regionsโ€”can be significantly eased through a
variety of provincial and federal funding and agency programs.

1. Assistance for Children with Severe Disabilities (ACSD)

  • Who itโ€™s for: Parents or guardians of children under 18 with a diagnosed severe disability living at home.

  • Funding: $25โ€“$646 per month to help cover extraordinary disability-related costs such as travel, specialized clothing, respite, or equipmentโ€ฏ(unitedwaygt.org, erinoakkids.ca, migrainecanada.org, ontario.ca).
